INCREASING THE PRICE OF PETROL

Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
What other measures do you think might be effective?

In these days, many people use cars and motorcycles to do their activities. They prefer to use their own transportation than use public transportation. This situation becomes a serious problem because can cause traffic congestion and high pollution. One of the solutions to solve this problem is increasing the petrol price. I think it is not the best option to overcome the problems.

The expensive of petrol will gives bad effect, especially for poorer because if the price of petrol is high, the cost of public transportation will more expensive. Besides that, it will impact on the price of other goods such as meat, fish, chicken, vegetables, and rice, because transportation to carry out all those things to the society also more expensive.

There is another measure that can be effective to handle the problem, such as improving the quality of public transportation, so many people will feel comfortable when using it. The quality is not only related to the facilities, but also the services. The government should provide better quality of public transportation and make people feel comfortable and safe.

In conclusion, the increasing of petrol’s price is not the best solution to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution. The best solution is to provide good public transportation, so people will prefer not to use their own vehicles. (RO)
